    The New Jersey Council of Teachers of English (NJCTE) is the New Jersey affiliate organization of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). NJCTE membership is separate from NCTE membership.

    Teachers of English, language arts and literacy at all grade levels are invited to join us. Please

    NJCTE sponsors conferences and workshops throughout the state of New Jersey throughout the year. NJCTE will hold several workshops at the NJEA conference in Atlantic City in November. Please click here or on the link to the left for more information about workshops and conferences.


    NJCTE holds a statewide, free writing contest each year. Please click here or on the link to the left for more information about our annual writing contest.


    NJCTE also publishes the New Jersey English Journal annually. This publication features articles devoted to practical teaching strategies, political issues related to education and academic research pertinent to language arts instruction at any grade level along with original poems, short fiction and personal reflections on our profession.
